A part of the Qualities of cabeceo mini-series A signature cabeceo? All in all, there is one final notion about the whole cabeceo thing. Over time, I have come to discern between different 'styles' of the mirada. People have their signature miradas. The style of mirada gives character to a person's cabeceo. So it's not too far out to speak about signature cabeceos as well. I will give a few examples. Please keep in mind these are my interpretations. No one of these people actually named their miradas/cabeceos. So, for taking the liberty to do so myself, I will give these good souls the privacy of nick-names. Signature miradas/cabeceos:
I find it absolutely remarkable how one lady can have such different cabeceos! As Evald Flisar said: »A woman has a thousand faces.« What do the best signatures have in common?
What about mine? I'll admit I have witnessed myself doing a few mirada styles. For the sake of consistency, I will try to name them:
Giving or receiving? I have to conclude that accepting an invitation on my part statistically leads to better tandas. Why? Well, this way I'm certain a lady wants to dance with me, is in the mood and likes the music. Also, ladies love to cabeceo. They get to play out their signature miradas, which is anyway their ancient skill (think belly dancers). On the topic of giving and receiving, I will say I consider myself a great receiver :) However, with new beginners joining the scene, a giver is rising.
